The South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA) is an affinity group for Penn Carey Law students who identify with the culture and heritage of India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and other surrounding countries. We organize a wide variety of social and professional programming throughout the year to build a strong community, where students can develop relationships with one another and gain access to resources for success in their law school careers and beyond.

We are particularly proud of our mentorship program, where each 1L is paired with a 2L who can provide any academic, professional, or personal guidance needed to navigate the first year of law school. We also have a robust system of academic advising for 1Ls to gain insight from upper-level students about their experiences with the law school curriculum. The highlights of the year are our lavish Diwali Party held right in the law school’s Courtyard and our event to observe Ramadan.

We invite you to celebrate our culture and connect with our SALSA community!
